A mechanical key is different, because there is no way to switch it off. If your keyring held both, deleting the tag solves half the problem and the cylinder still needs changing.

Where a complex has moved to a single tag for everything, that convenience cuts both ways: one lost tag reaches every shared space in the block. Reporting it the same day is what limits the damage, because deletion is instant once the building manager acts on it. Keep a note of your tag number somewhere other than on the tag itself, since that is the detail people are always asked for and never have.
Storage and bike rooms
Every complex here has bergingen and bike storage, and those doors take more abuse than any other in the building. A closer that no longer shuts the door turns a secure room into an open one. It is a small repair with a large effect, and it is usually the association that pays for it.
Proving the address at three in the morning
We will not open a door without evidence that you belong behind it, and in a complex with hundreds of identical flats that matters more than anywhere. A passport or ID card with the address is ideal. Where that is inside the flat, other things work: post addressed to you, a rental contract on your phone, a housemate or neighbour who can confirm who you are. Have something ready when we arrive and the whole visit is shorter.
